Trusting God

How do you trust God? How do you trust what you can’t see in the natural? How do you trust something that is bigger than you? I must say I have not arrived at any of these questions. I do enjoy believing in God who is bigger than me because it gives me hope.

I enjoy leaning on the spiritual part of my life when things don’t add up or fit into the box I am trying to put life into. It helps me to see things from God’s perspective. There are times when I am trying to do life independent of God only to realize that my trust is absent. It is the lack of trust that has me struggling through each task or situation in those times.

Trusting God can be a challenge because His ways and thoughts are so much higher and uniquely different than ours. Once you think you got it all figured out here comes God with his divine way of showing that there is so much more to be understood. There is so much more to know about your life and who He is in it.

There are situations that happen in our lives that make us question whether we should trust God or do it our way. When this happens we should understand that we can’t do life without God. He is the source of our strength. He is our fortress in times of trouble.

Every time I step out without God I am uncovered and that is not good. God wants us to walk with him not ahead of him. He desires our faith to grow and for us to trust that He has all the answers. God wants us not to lean on our own understanding and seek His wisdom and guidance.

Trusting God is about our faith in God. It is about believing in God’s word. His word says that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13). His word says all things are possible with God (Matthew 19:26). God is our strength. We can lean on God when we can’t lean on anybody else. God is there as our anchor and refuge.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5).

We must learn to put our trust in God because that is what covers us. God loves us no matter what we face and He is with us in every storm. God desires us to trust that He can help us no matter what we face. Trusting God allows Him to work in our life. No matter how hard life is learn that God is there to guide us through life.

Trust that God strives to be the head of our lives, our shield, and ever-present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1).

Remember to trust God.
