Trusting God When You Don’t Know What to Do
There are moments in life when the path ahead is completely unclear—when every option feels overwhelming, every door seems closed, and the silence from heaven feels deafening. It’s in these moments we often whisper, “God, what am I supposed to do?”
Uncertainty can be terrifying. We’re wired to want control, clarity, and answers. But sometimes, God asks us not to move, but to trust. Not to figure it out, but to rest in Him. That kind of trust isn’t easy—but it’s exactly where faith is built.
Faith begins where understanding ends.
God doesn’t require us to have all the answers. In fact, He often allows us to be uncertain so we can learn to rely on His strength, not our own. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
When you don’t know what to do:
Pray anyway. God hears even your silent tears and confused thoughts.
Pause and breathe. Sometimes, stillness is the most powerful step.
Remember what He’s already done. God has carried you before—and He’ll do it again.
Trust that He sees the full picture. What seems like a delay or detour may actually be divine protection.
You don’t have to know the how or when—you just need to believe in the Who. God sees you, knows your heart, and hasn’t abandoned you. Your uncertainty does not mean God is absent. It means He’s inviting you into deeper dependence.
So today, if you’re feeling lost or unsure, take one step: Trust Him. That step, however small, is a giant leap in faith.
He’s got you—even here.
