Sometimes, when we have a lot of traumatic experiences, we wonder if we will reach our goals. We wonder if God will keep His promises. There are spiritual forces that can work against us. People coined what God has for you is for you. It is true that people can alter our lives. We see this with Joseph when his brothers betrayed him due to jealousy (Genesis 37:23-28).
We must be aware of how people or spiritual forces can try and alter our lives. God will keep His promises. Even though Joseph’s brothers betrayed him, God allowed Joseph to rise to leadership beside the Pharaoh of his era (Genesis 41:41-48). God kept the promise of the vision Joseph had when he was in his youth.
There are times when we face challenges at the hands of others. Prayer and fasting can help change things when people are working against us. Jesus says in Matthew that some things only come through prayer and fasting. We can’t control everything that happens in our lives. We can trust God. Trusting God can be hard when we are facing challenges, and God understands. God is faithful to get us through the things that are out of our control.
Joseph went through many issues because of his brothers. He was sold into slavery and thrown into prison. Through it all, he stayed faithful to God no matter what he faced. There are times in our lives when things are out of our control. We don’t understand it, and we struggle to trust God. We can feel like he has deserted us. We can feel like life is not worth living because we keep facing challenges.
I have faced many obstacles, and this world can be unforgiving. Society often tries to hold us to our mistakes. It is a blessing that God does not tie us to our mistakes. He sees us worthy. God will give us favor even with those who see us not worthy or qualified.
There had to be times when Joseph thought the visions he had as a young man would never come true. I don’t know why we face obstacles in life and go through storms we can’t explain, but we do. The blessing is that trouble doesn’t last always, and God keeps His promises.
