Healing from Broken Pieces

Healing emotional, physically, mentally, spiritually, etc, is a journey. Some arrive when God destines them while others die broken and bound. Many people believe they have to carry around a lifetime worth of pain, but this is not true. Life comes with ups and downs, but we don’t have to remain there. Trouble don’t last always. You can turn the page on life it just takes time.

I always write that healing is a journey. It can be a lifelong feat. Slow and steady is the race. Many say only the strong survive. We are all God’s creation, and each of our journeys is unique. Life is hard, and we have unfortunate circumstances that leave us wondering where God is.

When I watched my dad grieve the loss of my grandma, it hit places emotionally I didn’t know existed. It was a deep hurt for him and losing her. It all felt unreal. Like, how could she be gone after walking me through life, giving me wisdom, loving on me, but she was really gone.

I had a traumatized upbringing because my family was so broken. I am glad that God created me and all of us to overcome. I have overcome so much, but there are more places in my life that need restoration or healing.

I’ll miss my grandma, but I find peace in knowing she is with God. She will not suffer any longer. You can always turn the page on life or write a new story.

Healing takes dedication to change the life you have. You might not be living the life God intended for you to live. Try therapy, activities you enjoy, spending time with healthy friends and loved ones, and make time for God each day. It is also good to study God’s word and have a prayer life.
