You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the Lord’s table and of the table of demons (1 Corinthians 10:21).
“Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they shall be My people.” Therefore “Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.” “I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty. (2 Corinthians 6:14-18).”
Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:11-12).
“And He said, “What comes out of a man, that defiles a man? For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within and defile a man (Mark 7:20-23).”
Halloween’s origin comes from an ancient practice of the Samhain from the Celts of Ireland some 2,500 years ago. The Samhain believed that those who had died would revisit the homes where they once dwelled. They also saw this time of the year as a form of darkness with the change in seasons.
They would dress up and wear masks to disguise themselves from those who had died to hopefully hide from their ghosts. It was in these times that divination was strong in the Samhain beliefs. Divination is the practice of seeking knowledge of the future or the unknown by supernatural means. This would be a form of witchcraft.
Some of the Celtics would have a feast and this open spiritual connection would cause them to do weird things like set a place for a dead relative at the feast. They put treats outside their doors so that the dead could come and eat treats.
Along with these treats being put outside was the practice of guising by children who wore masks or costumes and recited verses in exchange for food. In modern practice, most people feel comfortable allowing their children to go door to door in a mask or costume with a bag, recite “trick or treat” and receive candy. Well, if you wonder where it began here it is.
Many eras later All Saints Day began to be celebrated in May. All Saints Day was later celebrated on November 1st, and this was to get the attention of the Christian influence of the times.
Later on, the All Saints Day festival would be called All Hallows. The eve would be known as Halloween on October 31st. In the 19th century during the immigration of the Irish to the United States, they brought their traditions with them, and Halloween was made a national holiday.
Many people think Halloween is just a holiday to dress up, eat candy, and have a good time but this is untrue. Halloween falls during a season and time wear the spiritual realm is shifting and the wicked have a big influence on the world.
Dressing up in costumes because it is common to do so is a form of ignorance about the evil and darkness in our world. I was much younger and my first encounter with dark spirits was very overwhelming and terrifying. Many people believe it is all fairytales, but some of us know and understand that it is not to be taken lightly.
Lastly, God’s word teaches us to; “be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour” (1 Peter 5:8).
