Falling in Love with Healing from the Past (A Poem)

·

The restoration it gives to be free from the past.

The growth seen from not being bound to the past.

The strength found in relationships built on trust and not fear of being hurt.

The peace the spirit in us has because we are no longer struggling with a past, we can’t change.

The freedom to build a better future.

The health it brings to the mind, body, and spirit.

The serenity it gives in our everyday lives.

No one arrives overnight.

It takes years of diligence to heal from the trauma that once held you captive.

God and loved ones are there to hold you accountable.

The ability to support others in the process of healing.

This is the art of falling in love with healing from the past.
