Finding Your Way Through God

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6).

“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way” (Psalm 37:23).

It is important that we understand that finding our way through God takes a lot of understanding of God’s character. We must also seek after what He wants for our lives. This is no easy task. We will spend our whole lives trying to understand and know God. The way we see God will change. The way we know and knew God will change. This is the art of finding our way through Him.

The seasons of life change the way we see God. In certain seasons of our lives, we seek after God more. In other seasons we are more relaxed with God and may feel we do not need as much from Him. The storms of life will make us run to God and other times run away from God. This is all a part of the process of finding our way. This is the way in which we have a relationship with God, and we learn his characteristics.

I faced some legal issues last year. I had not fasted and prayed in two years. The trouble I found myself in I could do nothing but lean on God. I did not have money for an attorney.
All I could do was pray and fast.

It worked to the point that a year later God was still giving me favor against the employer months after it was dismissed. My prayer was that God would get it thrown out and dismissed. My employer never showed, and it was dismissed.

Finding our way through God is mastered when we learn to trust Him despite what we are going through. We grow in this process. As we face challenges in life we learn when to lean on God. We learn when we need Him the most.

God intended for us to follow Him. There is no condemnation with God. God does not judge how we judge. In all essence finding our way means denying our flesh and doing things God’s way.

It may take time before we walk in the fullness of our purpose. God is just setting us up for where He wants our lives to go if we let Him and are obedient to Him.

We will not find our way if we do not allow Him to order our steps, lean on Him, and seek His understanding and not our own. We will become lost and frustrated because things are not going our way. Things are not meant to go our way. They are meant to go His way. There is no one way of navigating life. We all have different paths.

God knows that we struggle to find our way. He is waiting for us to be honest that we are struggling and commit ourselves to who He is. I know times are hard. I know more and more we struggle to trust and believe in God.

As a world we all have faced hardships and rough times that make us feel that God is absent from the things we are going through. We must see life through His eyes and not our own. The only way we can do that is by building a relationship with Him that has no bounds. It stands no matter what is going on.

I think a lot about my court issue which was minor in essence. It felt like a mountain when I was going through it. I would not want to go through it again, but God was faithful. I knew that fasting and praying would get the enemy I had let into my life off me and it did. The employer worked to slander my name because she did not like the way I carried myself as a believer.

When finding your way through God, seek Him in all things. Lean on Him through the good and especially the bad things or hurtful things. He may seem far away but in essence He is always there.
