Wear God’s Word like a Garment

The biblical meaning of garment is an article of clothing in the simplest sense. If you look at various scriptures it goes a little deeper. We see the mantle of Elijah and other references to garments. Elijah mantle has always had many significant meanings.

Another way of looking at garment from a biblical perspective is the closeness and the connection to God. Our clothing is the way we cover ourselves and hide our nakedness. We should clothe ourselves in God’s word. It is our connection to Him. Also, when rightly divided and understood it is our protection.

“For the word of God is living and poweful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is the discerner of thoughts and intentions of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12).

We live in a world today where many people say the word is full of fairytales. I’m here to tell you that is an insult to God.

God’s word is our power and our strength. It helps us discern the mysteries of this life. Down through the years I have always found myself in God’s word. I know It can bring a stillness to the most stressful situations.

I was sixteen years old and I have always had the gift to see spirits since a young child. A evil spirit tried to overtake me and I grabbed my Bible and started calling on the name of Jesus. My Bible split in half and the spirit was never able to overtake me. That was my first encounter with the power of God’s word and the name of Jesus.

Without God’s word I would not have survived some of the greatest spiritual challenges in my life. The more you read the word your relationship with God grows.

Do not let anyone tell you God’s word is false and full of fairytales. The ignorance of people to the power of God’s word, his Son, the Holy Spirit and a relationship with Him is the saddest thing to see in society today.

Many people are lost. They look to many things to feel the voids in their lives. The fact of the matter is God left His word for that very reason. He left the word for understanding, guidance, strength, and support through life.

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15).

You can study God’s word different ways. Many people read inspirational books with scriptures all the way through them. The best way to read those is use them to help teach what is in God’s word. The ones that stick out the most write them down and study them. It is a great way to learn your bible.

Commentaries, study bibles, bible study, and biblical teachers and mentors are helpful. Always study and search the word about for yourself. Do not be intimidated by it. God’s Holy Spirit is the Helper.

Wearing God’s word like a garment is the source of our strength. It shields and protects us when we hold it close and use it for good. Rightly dividing the word means taking time to study and learn the mysteries of God and life in God’s word. When you wear it like a garment no one can deceive you about what is in God’s word. 📖🙏🏾
