Living a godly life as a Single Woman

It is important for women to live a single life God’s way. When women do not do it in God’s way it brings many challenges for women.

We are to live to please God. He is the head of our lives until we become married. When we become married our husband becomes the head of our lives. Our husband should be led by God.

Sex was intended to be for marriage. Being unequally yoked in relationships with men is a sin. It should be understood that you can not change a man or anyone. It is up to that person to have a desire to change.

2 Corinthians 6:14 “Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness”. This scripture is clear and it applies to being single because a godly woman should not be with an ungodly man living a worldly life.

As single women, we have more time to devote to God especially when we have no children. Maintaining our focus there and allowing God to place the right mate in our lives is safer and healthier. God sees a far off and He knows what is best for us.

Being single and doing it in God’s way is liberating because you are putting God first and allowing Him to lead your life. Being single is a special season and there is so much to enjoy without the burdens of a husband or children. If you are single with children it is a time to redefine your relationship with God. Your focus is on your children and instilling godly principles in them.

I have been single for many years and it is liberating at times but also a challenge. But after being single for so many years I know and understand all too well the importance of the focus being on God.

Use being single as a time to grow, change, and mature. If you are dating or choose to date, use wisdom. Do not place yourself in situations where temptation would be an issue. Be upfront about your expectations and stay focused on them. Be true to yourself and where you want your life to go.

Being single is a blessing. No matter how long the season, choose to enjoy the freedom it gives your life.
