A season to be Still in the Midst of Distractions

Luke 10:38-42 “Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus feet and heard His word. But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.” And Jesus answered and to her “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Maru has chosen the good part, which will not be taken away from her.”

As women sometimes we are severely overwhelmed by life and lose our focus on God. Whether married or single or children or no children God should be the head of our lives. We should always set aside time to be with God.

Sometimes we are in a season to be still with God and need to enjoy time with Him. Jesus states “Martha is worried and troubled about many things” and for some of us this may be our battle. Jesus is not saying Martha be like Mary, but He is saying that there is value in being still and enjoying the presence of Jesus.

As women of a more busier world today we must remember time is precious. God needs time with us. We also need time with God so He can show us things about ourselves we wouldn’t see without spending time with Him.

Always remember to find time to be still with God. No matter what has been worrisome or troubling God is in control.
